3.8.13.1 Ground storage. Add after the first sentence: "After the storage period, the battery

shall meet the requirements of 3.8.18 after being tested in accordance with 4.5.22."

3.8.16 Output performance. Delete the text and insert: "The battery shall produce a

potential of not less than 24.0 volts during and after the test of 4.5.28. The battery shall also meet

the requirements of 3.8.18 for not less than three successive cycles."

3.8.17 Cold and hot temperature charge. Delete the first sentence and insert: "The battery

shall produce not less than 12.0 ampere-hours after being tested in accordance with step

4.5.29.1.c. The battery shall produce not less than 18.0 ampere-hours in not less than 45 minutes

after being tested in accordance with steps 4.5.29.1.h and 4.5.29.2.e."

7.5 Add the following paragraphs:

"3.8.18 Start cycle. The battery shall produce not less than the specified amount of current

and voltage within the specified time period shown on figure 3 of the specification sheet after

being tested in accordance with 4.5.22 and 4.5.28."

7.6 Modify the following paragraphs:

4.5.12 Charge and discharge test at low temperature. Not applicable.

4.5.15 Shock test (basic design). Delete steps 4.5.15.e and 4.5.15.f and insert the following:

"e. Perform the following between each of the shocks of step 4.5.15.d: Dismount the

battery from the shock test apparatus. Examine the battery for the requirements of 3.7. Repeat

steps 4.5.15.b and 4.5.15.c.

"f. After the fifteenth impact, examine the battery for the requirements of 3.7. Constant

potential charge the battery in accordance with 4.4.2. Discharge the battery at the 6.5C-rate for

3 minutes."

4.5.19 Vibration test. Delete steps 4.5.19.a through 4.5.19.h and insert the following:

"a. Constant potential charge the battery in accordance with 4.4.2.

"b. Connect two AN-6 cables to the positive terminal and another two AN-6 cables to the

negative terminal. Clamp the cables to the test fixture at a cable length of 46 � 3 centimeters from

the battery.
