b. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
c. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.
5.4 International standardization agreements. Certain provisions (identified by *) of this standard are the subject of international standardization agreement STANAG 4015. When revision or cancellation of this standard is proposed which will effect or violate the international agreement concerned, the preparing activity will take appropriate reconciliation action through international standardization channels, including departmental standardization offices, if required.
5.5 CID Based part identification numbers (PIN). The PINs to be used for batteries acquired to this CID are created as follows (see 2.10):

5.6 Cross-reference. Batteries conforming to this document are interchangeable/substitutable with batteries conforming to MIL-B-23272B and MIL-B-23272B/1B.
5.7 Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal acquisition Regulation (FAR) (see 2.1).
5.8 MSDS. The contracting officer should identify those activities requiring copies of the completed MSDS prepared in accordance with FED-STD-313. Additional pertinent Government mailing addresses for submission of data are listed in appendix B of FED-STD-313 (see 2.9 and 5.2).
