BATTERY STORAGE
(NICKEL-CADMIUM, SECONDARY, NEDA 1604NC)
This commercial item description covers secondary nickel-cadmium batteries, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) NEDA 1604NC.
Salient characteristics:
The battery performance shall be in accordance with ANSI C18.2, NEDA designation 1604NC.
Terminals- miniature snap.
Continuous overcharge capability at C/10 at room temperature (25oC).
Maximum Dimensions:
Length- 1.031 inch (26.2mm).
Width- 0.688 inch (17.5 mm).
Height- 1.938 inch (49.2 mm).
Electrical ratings shall be as follows:
Volts- 7.2 min.
Current range- 0.75 milliamperes.
Average service capacity to 5.4 volts- 75 milliampere hours min.
Rated 75 milliamperes.
The issue of ANSI Standard No.C18.2 in effect on the date of solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with these requirements.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Packaging, packing, and marking. The items shall be packaged in accordance with normal commercial practice and packed to assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling, and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with the National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Shipping containers shall be marked as specified in the contract or order.
